ARMENIAN-TURKISH MEETING IN VIENNA
The Sides Exchanged Documents on Armenian Genocide
Armenian and Turkish sides met in Vienna on July 16 to exchange archive documents on the Armenian Genocide. Turkish Milliet newspaper informs in its July 20 publication. The Turkish side was represented by Dr. Yusuf Halachokhlu’s delegation.
Halachokhlu handed in to the Armenian side on behalf of Turkey 100 documents that, according to Milliet, refute the claims concerning the Armenian Genocide. The Armenian side gave as much documents in exchange proving the opposite.
The two sides are going to study the documents till the end of December and present some more 80 documents by May in case of need. Meanwhile, Milliet notes, that the sides will have meetings during 2005 to discuss the claims over the Armenian Genocide in the light of those documents.
