Recognition of the Armenian Genocide

The Switzerland-Armenia Association is strongly involved in the process of recognition of the Genocide of the Armenians. It obtained in this field, with the assistance of many Swiss politicians, the Society for threatened people and the unit of the Swiss Churches, a bright victory on December 16, 2003 with the recognition by the Swiss National Council of the Genocide of the Armenians.

The ASA supports the process of recognition in the other countries.

Denial

Turkey savagely denies the historical reality of the Armenian Genocide. It speaks only about event tragedies, rebels who would have put in danger the Ottoman Empire and about displacement of population to protect them from the zones of war. The goal of this journey was in general, after a long voyage without water nor food, the desert and death.

In 2003, the Turkish negationism has been imposed in the schools. Since 2002, the SAA conducted several trials for negation of the Genocide.
